A Romantic Wuthering Heights Wedding Shoot at Ponden Hall in Yorkshire

Last week I had my first day of 'me' time since before gorgeous Soren landed in our world. This in itself takes a lot of preparation these days but boy was it worth it! I had snapped up my place on The Secret Retreat: Fireside  workshop at the fabulous Ponden Hall as soon as they became available as I knew this would be an opportunity not to be missed in my home county.

Despite leaving with time to spare, I rocked up nearly late due to a couple of wrong turns into the moors (I despise being late!).  A speedy walk up a steep hill to the hall left me breathless, but not quite as much as being in a room full of adults. All with a similar passion for photography to boot. Yee ha!

Ponden Hall is the ACTUAL house where Emily Bronte wrote Wuthering Heights and made for such an atmospheric setting. It was incredible to shoot in the room containing the box bed from which she wrote the novel looking out of that famous window (yes I can hear Kate Bush right now, too)! There was no hiding the chemistry between the real-life-couple models who patiently cuddled and 'almost-but-not-quite' kissed until our hearts were content through wind and rain: proper Bronte weather!

Listening to the stories and advice from the inspirational founders of The Secret Retreat: Italy left me buzzing and full of ideas for how to take the wedding side of my business forwards by being completely true to myself.  In fact I've not stopped thinking about it over a week later and putting new ideas into practice.

Shooting amongst such a talented field was a little daunting but I'm chuffed with the results. I hope you enjoy looking at some of the highlights here too (scroll through)!

Getting hitched and like what you see? Know a loved-up couple who would fancy this style?

Get in touch and spread the word - I'm open for wedding business!
