A Festive Winter Wedding at Falcon Manor in Yorkshire - Andrew and Rachel
The baubles are dusted off and packed away for another year but cast your minds back to frosty December at the height of the festive season. That is when, the Saturday before Christmas, Andrew and Rachel tied the knot at the stunning Falcon Manor hotel in Settle.
The morning couldn't have been more beautiful: dazzling sunshine, frosty fields and even some snow flakes welcomed the day. I joined Rachel and little Jasper in the hotel's incredible bridal suite where she was being glammed up by talented Julia Jeckell Hair and Makeup. Rachel was a vision of calm and organisation so it was my pleasure to quietly mooch about capturing some of the beautiful details of the day while she was beautifying.* Mum Carol was on hand to help entertain Jasper and have a cheers with the gorgeous flower girl. In fact, Carol could be found with a drink in hand throughout the day ;). Go girl!
Falcon Manor is a brilliant venue because everything is on site, taking a lot of stress out of the day. So it was just a short stroll for the bridal party downstairs and through the corridor past the spectacular twinkling trees and roaring log fires straight to the ceremony room. I just loved the simplicity of the room and the beautiful light pouring through the large windows.
Andrew and Rachel were both naturally a little nervous right before the ceremony and there was a long emotional wait for the bridal party as music played, building the tension. Jasper proudly took to the aisle with his, "Daddy, here comes Mummy" sign - a sweet touch. And the bridesmaids looked just beautiful. Tears were already flowing throughout the room at this point but just wait for the speeches!
The speeches were definitely a highlight of the day. There wasn't a dry eye in the house as Andrew and his best men reflected on a tough year and gave thanks for everyone who was present. It wasn't all tears though - plenty of laughs as well! Amazing speeches! Following this, everyone was ready to party the night away. Such a fantastic day at the perfect, cosy, festive wedding venue!
