Newborn and Family Photography
Honest, creative, documentary family photography that captures and celebrates real life, real moments and individuality.
You want to remember the tiny details of your precious newborn; you treasure photos of your kids but you’re either behind the camera or running away from it, so you’ve got precious few pictures of you with them or as a whole family (this is me!).
You’re not interested in cheesy, posed shots and you don’t want to be made to feel awkward by someone with a big camera bossing you around. You probably think you don’t like having your picture taken but you think you should do it while they are still small.
Perfection is not important to you; what’s important is the way your new baby grips your finger, their wrinkly fingers, your little boy’s crazy grin, the way her hair sticks up like that, the way we used to read in that chair, how tightly she used to cling to me.
You want to remember it all. Just as it was. I feel exactly the same as you.
And you will enjoy it after all!
Session Options
I’m grateful for every day with the people I love and I’m always aware that it’s short and precious, so we really must live it and love it as much as we can.
Newborn at Home
I love, love, love visiting you and your new baby at home! We’ll work out the most convenient time for you and I’ll come for around 1.5-2 hours, but there’s no pressure on time and if we need longer for feeds, changes etc, that’s absolutely fine! The shoot is led by your baby’s needs. No weird props, no weird poses - just beautiful memories of how it really was.
Family at Home
Some families prefer to have their shoot at home and this is always great fun and can help some children feel more comfortable. We’ll work out the best time for your family and I’ll be there for 1-2 hours hanging out and having a play - we’ll get some amazing, authentic pictures along the way!
Family Adventures Outdoors
It’s brilliant to get out for an explore and a play in all seasons. I love family shoots in the woods, on the beach, in the park, or wherever is special to your family. We can share ideas when we’re planning your shoot. No need to worry about posing! In fact, please don’t! We’ll walk, run, play, explore and I’ll catch some amazing real moments of you and your kids along the way.
Session fee: £95 weekday/£150 weekend
NB The session fee covers preparation, travel time, shooting, post-production and preparing the images for viewing and does not include any images, printed or digital.

THE PROCESS
You want the photos but you don’t want arranging it to be a load of stress - you are busy! Don’t worry, it’s really simple. Here’s what to expect from start to finish. All you need to do to get things started is 1), and I will take care of the rest!
2 Ideas sharing
Before the shoot, we’ll do some quick and easy planning to make sure the session is completely bespoke to your family. I’ll send you a quick questionnaire to get to know what’s important to you, your daily life, interests and personalities. Then I’ll design the shoot based on all this to make sure we get the most from our time together and I can capture the things you particularly want to remember in the future. I’ll also send you some helpful info about what you can expect on the day.
3 Your Photo Session
Don’t worry, I won’t arrive pointing the camera at you! I always make time for a chat first and a play with the kids. It’s useful for me to have a look around if we’re at your house so I can check out the good lighting areas around the house. Then when everyone is comfortable, I will gradually start taking pictures.
4 Get your pics!
Within 3 weeks of your shoot, you will receive an exciting email with a link to your online gallery of photos. I don’t go in for awkward sit- down sales sessions - hard sales is not my thing - and I think it’s better for you to view your images in peace, in your own space. Ordering is really simple, you can just pay directly online for whichever image options you want directly from your gallery. All orders must be placed within 2 weeks.
5 Special Delivery
Once you’ve placed your order, you will receive a link to your digital downloads within 3 days, your fine art prints will arrive within 3 weeks and your album and/or framed prints will arrive within 6 weeks.
1 Choose your session type and get a date in the diary
Choose your session type and drop me an email with your preferred month/weeks/days of the week and I will check my diary and get back to you. When we’ve got a date that works, I will ask you to pay the booking fee and complete the booking form to secure your shoot.
